Tenerife Retreat - Chayofa, Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Disappointed in this retreat. The villa was beautiful and looks just like the photos. The trainer brought in from UK was really great and made the trip a great workout experience for us all. Our disappointment came from the retreat itself. A lot of what was advertised on the website wasn’t true. There was no post/pre wellness check, there was not frequent morning yoga and meditation - the list goes on. Before the chef was changed due to complaints from the 12 guest the food wasn’t, healthy, luxury or even enough to feed all of us.

To continue the disappointment after finally agreeing to a partial refund of less than half (less than we spent on food, taxis and excursions outside the villa), the slow relies and “missed” emails continued and we eventually received our refund a month after our initial email.

A very frustrating experience which is ironic as that was our opposite intention when seeking out a retreat. So lucky to have the trainer there who really went the extra mile to ensure we still had a good experience. I really hope that at least some of the luxury elements featured on the website have been introduced for future guess stays. I could write a much longer review detailing how this retreat did not live up to what was advertised on the site or even to what was said directly to us on the phone however after such a lengthy back and forth with the owner after the trip I can’t spend the time.

Beware when booking- the website is more a look at the retreats aspirations.

5 stars does not come close to justify this company! After a hard year, I have had the most incredible experience with Tenerife retreat. The staff can not do enough for you! I was a little hesitant to take part in the recovery retreat as I did not know anybody. However ... From the moment I arrived I was made to feel so welcome, greeted by so many friendly faces whom have all struggled somewhat in the same way. The days in the retreat were structured with so many activities, where we all bonded as a group!
Inside the villa we had the option to take part in so many classes and activities such as, yoga, boxercise, mountain hikes, and the most amazing massages!! Not to mention our personal chef, the food was fantastic, a great range of nutritious meals and snacks on hand!

Before this retreat I had associated excersize and healthy eating as a chore, something I dreaded doing. However since arriving at the retreat it has been constant laughter! There was many tears, but tears of joy, laughter, and a massive sense of achievement.

Paula and rick are one of the most genuine, down to earth couples I have ever met and I cannot recommend this company enough ! I am full with gratitude and am blessed to have had the opportunity to take part in the retreat. Cannot recommend enough.
